The two most beautiful towns in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Trebinje and Mostar are unofficially two most beautiful towns in Bosnia and Herzegovina. What is great for us is that they aren’t too far away from Petrovac. Therefore, during our excursion, we can visit both towns in one day, and feel that Bosnian/Herzegovinian spirit – that preserves its tradition and nature.

Trebinje

If you love nature and tradition, Trebinje will beguile you. It is a town that has its Old Town, with river Trebišnjica flowing through the very center of the town. This town is one of the cultural centers of East Herzegovina due to its bridges, monasteries, and mosques. With all that, local meat specialties, alongside with excellent wine- are the things one will remember this excursion by.

Mostar

We will continue the excursion in Mostar, one of the most beautiful towns in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The first association of Mostar is the bridge. Not just any bridge, but the Old Bridge, from 16th century. It was built in Ottoman style. With its 28m, it stretches over River Neretva, thus connecting the two parts of the town. There, we might have the opportunity to see the locals jumping into Neretva from 20m of height, thus preserving tradition that started since 1664.

The thing that will surprise you is the statue of Bruce Lee. Yes, The Bruce Lee. The reason it was set there is even more interesting. Certain people thought that people of Mostar will not be divided by this statue, because Bruce Lee is a personality that everybody in the world likes, and that this is one more way to bring the local population (that consists of many different nationalities and religions) together.
